I saw an "Urgent Security Notice" pop-up in the app. Is it real? What are DCENT's official channels?

Last updated 2026-10-07.

Yes, it is an official notice. Since September 16, 2026, opening the DCENT app shows an "Urgent Security Notice" pop-up. It asks you, if you have assets in your App Wallet (software wallet), to update the app and then move your assets to a hardware wallet or another trusted wallet. The pop-up's Check if affected button and the links in it are official features provided inside the DCENT app.

DCENT does not operate official messenger channels such as Telegram, Discord, or KakaoTalk open chats. Any account claiming to be DCENT there is an impersonation.

2. What DCENT never does

  • Ask for your recovery phrase, private key, PIN, or password. Under any circumstances.
  • Ask you to send assets to a specific wallet address for "recovery" or "compensation."
  • Contact you first by DM, email, or SNS comment. The only emails DCENT sends are replies to support inquiries. A proactive email like "asset status notice" is an impersonation.
  • Approach you offering help from a personal account with a title like "Head of Support."

3. These are impersonation

  • Accounts that send a link or form by X comment/DM claiming to "secure your wallet" or "help you recover."
  • "Inspection tools," "sync sites," or "security update" pages that ask you to enter your recovery phrase.
  • "Notices" on a domain other than the official blog, or "update" files from somewhere other than the official app stores.

Report suspicious accounts or messages with a screenshot via 1:1 support. The full official notice is available in the status report.
