I lost my Biometric hardware wallet.

This article explains how to recover your wallet to a new Biometric Wallet if you have lost your Biometric Wallet but still have your recovery words (mnemonic phrase), and informs you that recovery is not possible if the recovery words are not available.

Please check that you have secured your Recovery Card.

If you've lost your DCENT Biometric Wallet, you can recover your assets only if you have securely stored your 24 recovery words (mnemonic code).

As long as your recovery words are backed up, your assets can be restored using a new Biometric Wallet.

[Recover Using a New Biometric Wallet]​

If you purchase a new DCENT Biometric Wallet, you can restore your wallet with your existing recovery words.

  1. Prepare a new DCENT Biometric Wallet. (To recover on another Biometric Wallet you have used before, first perform [Setting > Device Wipe].)
  2. Press and hold the Power button on the right side for 3 seconds to turn it on, then select your language.
  3. On the initial screen, select [Recover Wallet].
  4. Set a new PIN (4 to 8 digits) and enter it once more to confirm.
  5. Register and verify your fingerprint. (You can skip this step and register it later from the Setting menu.)
  6. Enter the 24 recovery words written on your Recovery Card in order, from word 1 to word 24.
  7. Use the Down (∨) button to review all entered words, then select [I am ready] at the bottom of the review screen.
  8. Once recovery is complete, connect the wallet to the DCENT app and add your coin accounts again.

How to Recover the Biometric Wallet

⚠️ If you used a 25th word (Passphrase)

  • Recovering with only the 24 recovery words opens the wallet without the 25th word applied, so your previous accounts and assets will not appear.
  • After recovery, go to [Setting > Security > 25th Word] and enter the same 24 recovery words and exactly the same 25th word you set before to access your previous wallet.
  • If even one character of the 25th word differs (including upper/lower case), a completely different wallet is created.
  • If you forget your 25th word, the assets in that wallet cannot be recovered, even with the 24 recovery words.

[Important Notes]​

  • If you did not back up your recovery words, there is no way to recover your wallet or assets if the device is lost
  • DCENT Biometric Wallet can only send assets when it is connected to the DCENT app via Bluetooth
    → If the device is lost, you will not be able to initiate any transfers
