I see an “Invalid Address”, “Nonexistent Address”, or “Wrong Address” message when entering my D’CENT wallet address on an exchange
This article explains the causes and solutions when an exchange displays a message such as “Invalid Address”, “Nonexistent Address”, or “Wrong Address” after entering a D’CENT Wallet address.
If you enter your D’CENT Wallet address on an exchange in order to send coins but see a message such as “Invalid Address”, “Nonexistent Address”, or “Wrong Address”, this may be due to a network mismatch between the network the exchange is trying to use and the network supported by your D’CENT Wallet account.
[Check Network Information Between the Exchange and D’CENT Wallet]
On the exchange’s withdrawal page, check the supported network for the coin you want to send.
Then confirm that the network for the coin account added to your D’CENT Wallet exactly matches the network supported by the exchange.
For example, when sending Ripple (XRP):
- If the exchange’s supported network is “Ripple Mainnet” or “XRP Ledger” and
- Your D’CENT Wallet’s XRP account is an EVM‑based account (e.g., XRP‑EVM, XRP BEP20, XRP ERC20), then entering the address in the exchange may produce an “Invalid Address” error.
When networks differ, the address format also differs:
- A Ripple Mainnet address begins with “r…”
- An EVM‑based address begins with “0x…”

[If You See an “Invalid Address” Message When Sending Stellar Lumens (XLM)]
- If you added a Stellar Lumens (XLM) account in D’CENT Wallet and the address is still inactive, it will initially be marked as not yet active.
- According to Stellar network policy, an XLM address must receive at least 1 XLM before the account becomes active.
- Some exchanges do not allow withdrawals to inactive XLM addresses, which can result in an “Invalid Address” message.
Solution:
- From another exchange or wallet, send at least 1 XLM to your D’CENT XLM address to activate the account, and then try the transfer again on the exchange where you saw the error.
- Alternatively, if you already hold other coins in your D’CENT Wallet, use the Swap feature to convert them into at least 1 XLM to activate your XLM account before proceeding with the transfer.
※ Additionally, XRP may also be subject to withdrawal restrictions on certain exchanges if the destination address is not yet activated, so please make sure the account is activated before initiating the transfer.
[Important Note]
- Even if you enter the address correctly, you could still lose your assets if the network used by the exchange does not match the network supported by the D’CENT Wallet or if the network is not supported by D’CENT.
- Before sending any coins, make sure that the exchange’s withdrawal network matches the network of the coin account in your D’CENT Wallet, and that the network is supported by D’CENT Wallet.
