About the DCENT S PIN (initial PIN and entry limit)

[What is the initial PIN of the DCENT S?]​

The DCENT S has no preset (default) PIN. During the first-time setup, you create your own 6-digit DCENT S PIN.

Notes

  • Enter the 6 digits, enter them once more to confirm, then tap the card to complete the setup.
  • The DCENT Mobile App's 6-digit lock password and the DCENT S PIN are different things, so don't confuse them.

[What happens if I enter the wrong PIN several times?]​

The DCENT S PIN can be entered up to 10 times.

You are asked to enter your PIN in the following situations:

  1. When changing your current PIN to a new one
  2. When signing a transaction (e.g., sending coins)

Notes

  • Entering it incorrectly 10 or more times may reset the card.
  • The R3covery Card PIN is also limited to 10 attempts; entering it incorrectly 10 or more times will reset the R3covery Card.
  • If it is reset, you must recover your assets with your backed-up R3covery card or 24-word mnemonic (recovery phrase), so be sure to keep a backup and remember your PIN.
