Does DCENT X also use a mnemonic (recovery words)?

Yes. DCENT X can be backed up easily with an R3covery Card, but you can also back up your private key as 24 words (a mnemonic code) in case something goes wrong - for example if you forget the card PIN or lose the card.

[Storing your mnemonic code]

The 24 recovery words (mnemonic) are the information that can restore your wallet, so keep them somewhere safe. Even if you lose the device or it breaks, you need the mnemonic to restore your existing wallet and regain access to your assets.

If you did not view the mnemonic during the initial setup or the R3covery backup, you can still view it from Wallet Management > View Mnemonic or during the device reset flow.

However, once you have viewed the mnemonic you cannot view or retrieve it again. After that, only the mnemonic verification feature - which checks whether the words you wrote down are correct - remains available.

Do not photograph your mnemonic or save it as an image or in the cloud. Write it down offline, for example on paper, and store it safely. Never share it with anyone.

DCENT is a non-custodial wallet and does not store your mnemonic or private key on any server. If you lose your mnemonic, DCENT cannot look it up or restore it for you.
