Fingerprint authentication does not work while signing a transaction.

After you review the transaction details and press the confirm button, fingerprint authentication is requested. If you have not registered a fingerprint or authentication fails, you can sign with your PIN.

[What to do]

  • Place your finger on the sensor (on the right side of the device) again, changing its position and angle.
  • After 5 failed fingerprint attempts the device switches to the PIN entry screen. Enter your PIN to complete the signature.
  • If you have not registered a fingerprint and use only a PIN, you sign with PIN authentication from the start.

[If PIN entry suddenly stops working]

From the 5th attempt onward a waiting time applies to PIN entry. While you wait the device shows “Available in N seconds”, and you can enter it again once that time has passed.

  • Attempts 5-6 : 5 seconds wait / Attempts 7-8 : 30 seconds wait / Attempt 9 : 60 seconds wait

[Caution]

If the PIN also fails 10 times in a row, the device resets itself. After a reset you must restore it with your R3covery Card or recovery words.
