I forgot my PIN (authentication number).
The DCENT X PIN is the 4 to 8 digit numeric password you registered during the initial setup. DCENT cannot look it up or reset it for you.
[If you lose your PIN]
- After 5 failed fingerprint attempts, the device switches to PIN authentication automatically.
- You can enter the PIN up to 10 times. If every attempt fails, the device resets itself.
- After a reset, every key stored on the device is deleted.
[Waiting time after failed attempts]
From the 5th attempt onward a waiting time applies, and while you wait the device shows "Available in N seconds". Even if it looks as though input has suddenly stopped working, this is not a malfunction - simply wait for the time shown and try again.
- Attempts 1-4 : only the remaining count is shown; you can retry immediately.
- Attempts 5-6 : 5 seconds wait
- Attempts 7-8 : 30 seconds wait
- Attempt 9 : 60 seconds wait
- Attempt 10 : the device resets itself.
[Cautions]
- To recover your assets you must restore the wallet with the R3covery Card or the 24 recovery words (mnemonic code) you backed up.
- During the restore you register a new PIN and new fingerprints; the PIN and fingerprints you used before are not carried over.
- The device PIN (4-8 digits) and the R3covery Card PIN (6 digits) are different values, and both differ from the DCENT app lock password.
