A recovery word is reported as invalid or not in the list.
The recovery words (mnemonic code) of a DCENT wallet are chosen at random from the 2,048 English words in the BIP39 technical standard list.
In other words, every word shown on the screen is generated according to the BIP39 standard, so it cannot be an invalid word or a word missing from the list.
[Things to check]
- Check the spelling of the words you wrote down once more. Recovery words consist only of lowercase letters, and similar-looking letters are easy to confuse. e.g. u / v , l / i , h / n / m
- Even if the spelling looks right, the word may be a similar word that is not in the BIP39 standard word list. View the full BIP39 word list
- Recovery words must be entered in the exact order. Please also check whether the order slipped or a word was entered in the wrong position.
- Check that you selected the correct number of words. A wallet created on DCENT uses 24 words. (The 12 and 18 word options are for restoring a mnemonic created in another wallet.)

- DCENT is a non-custodial wallet and does not store your recovery words or private key on any server.
- Therefore, if you lose your recovery words or they do not match, not even the wallet company can restore them for you.
