How to update the firmware?

How to update the firmware depends on your wallet. (The DCENT S Card and the All-in-One Card Wallet have no firmware updates.)

[DCENT X]​

DCENT X firmware is updated in the DCENT app over Bluetooth, without connecting to a PC or a cable.

  • DCENT X must be connected to the DCENT app via Bluetooth.

  • The update cannot proceed if the DCENT X battery is below 20% or your phone battery is below 15%.

  • In the DCENT app, go to the [Settings] tab, tap the More (⋮) button at the top right, then [Firmware update].

  • The device reboots during the update and a "disconnected" notification may appear. This is normal.

[Biometric Wallet]​

To update the firmware of the DCENT Biometric Wallet, connect the wallet to your PC using a USB cable and follow the on-screen instructions.

You can begin the update process by visiting the Firmware Update page after completing the necessary pre-checks.

Pre-Update Checklist

  1. Make sure your 24 recovery words are safely stored on your recovery card
  2. Use a USB cable that supports data transfer
  3. Once updated, the firmware cannot be rolled back to a previous version
  4. Please close the DCENT mobile app before starting the update
  5. Estimated update time: about 3 minutes

Important Notice

Do not disconnect the device or interrupt the power supply during the firmware update process.
