If I die or am otherwise unable to manage my wallet, is there a way for my family to access it?
D'CENT Wallet is a non-custodial wallet, meaning users have full control over their assets and D'CENT does not store any user information.
To ensure that a trusted family member or other party can manage or recover your wallet in case of emergency, you must safely store and share key information in advance.
[Essential Information for Wallet Recovery]
To enable access and recovery of the wallet, you must securely share:
- Your 24 recovery word (mnemonic code)
- The PIN code for the Biometric Wallet
- The registered fingerprint(s)
[Share Recovery Words and PIN (Recommended)]
- Write your 24 recovery words on the Recovery Sheet and store it securely offline
- Share this sheet and your wallet's PIN code with a trusted family member
- In the event of an emergency, they can reset and recover the wallet using the recovery phrase
- It’s also helpful to document the list of coins/accounts stored in the wallet, as these must be manually re-added after recovery
