Why is the exchange price different from the average cost displayed?

D'CENT Wallet displays cryptocurrency prices based on data provided by CoinGecko.

CoinGecko is a global cryptocurrency data platform that aggregates price information for over 6,000 crypto assets across more than 400 exchanges worldwide.

[Why Is the Price Different from the Exchange?]

  • Cryptocurrency prices may vary between exchanges
  • D'CENT Wallet does not use the price from any specific exchange
  • Instead, it displays the average price data aggregated by CoinGecko

[About Average Cost]

The average cost displayed in the D’CENT app is calculated based on the transaction history of the coins received into the D’CENT Wallet, from the time the coin was first received up to the most recent transaction.

Each time the same coin is additionally received, the CoinGecko price at that time is reflected and the average value is automatically updated.

In other words, the average cost displayed in the app is a reference estimate calculated based on:

  • the amount of coins received into the D’CENT Wallet, and
  • the CoinGecko price at the time of receipt.

Therefore, it may differ from the actual purchase price on an exchange, and may continue to change depending on market conditions and the transaction history of coins received into the wallet.

In addition, transferring coins from an exchange or another wallet to the D’CENT Wallet is simply a process of moving the quantity of coins you already hold from one wallet to another, and is not a buy or sell transaction.
During the transfer process, only the quantity of coins is moved, and it does not affect the original purchase price or the actual investment amount.

[Additional Notes]

  • D'CENT reflects global market averages via CoinGecko
  • It does not reflect real-time prices from every individual exchange
  • Please note that prices shown in the D'CENT Wallet may differ from what you see on your preferred trading platform
