How is a recovery words(mnemonic code) generated?

The recovery words used in the D'CENT Wallet are generated in the form of a Mnemonic Code,
based on the BIP39 technical standard.

[How Recovery Words (Mnemonic Code) Are Generated]

  • The words are randomly selected from a list of 2,048 English words defined by the BIP39 specification
  • A set of 24 words is generated inside the secure chip of the Biometric Wallet during initial setup
  • These words are displayed only once, and cannot be viewed again on the device or in the app
  • Both the generation and display of recovery words occur in a completely offline environment, meaning no external party, including D'CENT, can ever access them

[Important Notes on Managing Your Recovery Words]

  • Your recovery words are the only way to recover your wallet
  • Write down the 24 words in order on the included Recovery Sheet and store it offline in a secure place
  • If the words are stolen, leaked, lost, or damaged, your wallet cannot be recovered, and your assets may be permanently lost
