Is the mnemonic code compatible with other wallets?
DCENT Wallet follows the BIP39 technical standard, which means recovery words (mnemonic codes) consist of 24 English words based on that standard.
However, the derivation path, which determines how private keys are generated from those words, may differ across wallet manufacturers, leading to compatibility limitations.
[About Recovery Word Compatibility]
- Although recovery words use a standardized format (BIP39), different wallets use different derivation paths, so not all assets may be recovered identically across wallets.
- If you enter DCENT recovery words into another wallet, or use another wallet’s words in DCENT, some addresses may differ or certain assets may not appear
- This is not a malfunction of the DCENT Wallet, but rather a common compatibility issue shared by all BIP39-based wallets.
[Compatibility with Ledger Wallet]
You can restore a DCENT Wallet using recovery words generated by a Ledger device.
However, please note:
- Some assets may not be fully compatible
- Be sure to check the list of supported assets when restoring from a Ledger recovery phrase
