What is a mnemonic code?
A mnemonic code, also called "recovery words" or a "seed phrase," is the master key of a crypto wallet, made up of 24 English words.
It is the source from which the private keys that access your blockchain assets are created, and it lets you restore your assets even if you lose your wallet or delete the app.
[Mnemonic code by wallet]
- DCENT X: 24 words are generated during the initial setup. You back them up to the R3covery card and can also write the recovery words down on paper.
- Biometric Wallet: 24 words are generated during the initial setup. Write them down in order on the included Recovery Sheet.
- DCENT S Card Wallet: 24 words are generated during the initial setup. You back them up to the R3covery card and can also write the recovery words down on paper.
[Precautions for managing your mnemonic code]
- Anyone who knows your mnemonic code can copy your wallet or access your assets.
- Never store it online or digitally, such as by taking photos, saving it to the cloud, or writing it in a phone memo app.
- Write it down by hand on paper offline and keep it in the safest place possible.
- If you lose your recovery words, DCENT cannot help you recover them.
- You are responsible for any loss of assets resulting from this.
