DCENT R3covery Card (Introduction)
What is the DCENT R3covery Card?
The DCENT R3covery Card is a dedicated recovery (backup) card for DCENT hardware wallets. It stores your wallet's mnemonic (24 recovery words) encrypted on a card instead of paper, and lets you recover your wallet with a single tap if your wallet is lost or replaced. It works with both DCENT S and DCENT X — included in each product's kit bundle, and also sold separately.
No more paper seeds
Writing a 24-word mnemonic on paper leaves it vulnerable to loss, theft, and damage. R3covery keeps your encrypted seed inside the card, replacing risky paper backups. Faster than writing it down — no smudged ink, no lost notes.
One tap to back up — and to recover
The steps differ slightly by device, but the principle is the same — a single NFC tag stores your mnemonic on a physical card, not on paper.
- With DCENT S — when setting up your S wallet, tag the R3covery card to your phone. Your mnemonic is stored on the card right there.
- With DCENT X — hold the R3covery card to the back of the X device and your mnemonic is backed up to the card.
- When you need to recover — all you need is a new DCENT hardware wallet and your R3covery card. One tag brings your wallet back in about 3 minutes.
Split across cards, entrust to family
You can store the same mnemonic on multiple R3covery cards and keep them in different places — lose one and the others remain. Leave a card with your family, and your assets can be restored anytime with just one DCENT hardware wallet.
A backup-only card that can't sign
Your everyday wallet (for signing) and R3covery (the recovery card, seed storage only) split the roles. Because R3covery is never used for signing, you can keep it safely tucked away as a backup-only card.
No subscription, no cloud
No subscription fees and no cloud account. Your backup lives encrypted on the card itself — not in the cloud — and backup and recovery happen only through the DCENT app.
